No special clothing is needed for class. Just wear anything you feel comfortable exercising in. If you want to take it to the next level, Zumba® Wear is awesome!

In general, I recommend any sneaker with a worn tread; this makes some of the movements easier to do. However, in my experience attending and teaching Zumba® classes I have found that dance sneakers are the best shoes. They are built specifically for the types of movement we often do in class. If you decide to attend classes regularly, I recommend picking up a pair.

Here are a few links to some quality dance sneakers, including the various shoes I have worn while teaching:

IMPORTANT: Don’t wear shoes that are designed to tone your legs (Sketchers Shape-Ups, etc.). They work by putting you off balance. To avoid injury, you don’t want to be off balance in a Zumba Class!

Just some water and maybe a towel – you will be sweating!
As long as you are willing to move and have fun – and your doctor says it’s ok – you can participate in a Zumba® class. I personally love having people who are new to Zumba® in my classes! Being able to bring Zumba® into people’s lives and seeing the positive changes it brings is truly rewarding and one of the many reasons I love teaching!
The RSVP feature on Meetup is a great way to let me know that you’re planning to come to class and I do appreciate the heads up. But don’t worry, if you haven’t RSVP’d you can still come to class – in fact, there are usually many more people in class than have RSVP’d.
The drop-in rate for a single class is $9.00 and is collected at the door. Class cards are available in 10- and 20-class quantities and give you discount off the single-class rate. 10 class cards are $80.00 ($8.00 per class) and 20 class cards are $140.00 ($7.00 per class).
Yes! Simply scroll to the bottom of any page on this site and click the “Buy Now” button for the class card you want. You then will be taken to our easy PayPal checkout. Once you receive your email receipt, print it and bring it to class to receive your new class card. You must come to class to pick up your class card; I do not mail them.
I accept Cash, Personal Checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express at the door for drop-ins and class card purchases. For online class card purchases, I also accept PayPal.
For credit card purchases made online, your statement will show a transaction from PAYPAL*ZUMBABRIDGT. For credit card purchases made in class, your statement will show a transaction from Zumba With Bridget.
Your class card can be used at any of my public classes.
No.
Once you purchase a class card, you are free to spend or give away the classes on it as you choose. Each “class” on a class card represents admission for 1 person to 1 class. For example, if you bring a friend to class and pay for both of you with your class card, 2 classes on your class card will be marked as used.
I want you to have a great time in my Zumba® class and I work hard to make sure each class is fun, energetic and inclusive. If, at the end of your first class, you truly feel that I haven’t succeeded, simply let me know and I will refund your drop-in rate. This only applies to your first class and can only be claimed at the end of that class. Class cards are non-refundable.

Yes I am. I took my Zumba Basics training in September 2010 and since then I have continued my Zumba education. See my About page for the complete list of trainings I have taken and Zumba® classes I am licensed to teach. My ZIN ID number is 99858 and you can find my official Zumba.com profile here.

Always verify that any instructor from whom you take a Zumba® class is licensed to teach Zumba® (and in the case of specialty classes such as Zumba® Gold or Zumba® Toning, licensed to teach that specialty class) by going to Zumba.com. Click on Find an Instructor and enter their name. If that person does not come up, or they do but they do not have the proper training to be teaching the class they are offering, report them!

Although some Zumba® music is provided exclusively to instructors, collections of the more popular Zumba® songs are available here.

Zumba® has released a number of DVD sets, including:
